SUPPORT US

Our Parish, Our Responsibility

‘Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.’ (2 Corinthians 9:7)

A church is its people. Our desire to maintain and enhance our church is part of our vision of serving both the parish and the wider community. Prayer, worship, discussion, fellowship and administration, all need spaces adapted to their needs. If you register with our parish we will invite you to contribute regularly to its upkeep and outreach.

Making a commitment of regular financial support helps our parish…

  • Remain a living church at the centre of the community, welcoming to all and reaching out to those in need

  • Continue to provide a ministry to the whole parish – services in church and schools; baptisms, first communions, confirmations, weddings and funerals, social occasions, ministry to the elderly, providing homeless shelter in winter months, visits to the ill, lonely and bereaved

  • Ensure we are able to maintain our parish and pass it onto the next generation in good financial health

  • Ensure that we can maintain our historic church building – in 2016 we will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of its consecration – and build up sufficient reserves to meet any future emergency projects

A commitment to giving on a regular basis…

  • is an important part of Christian Stewardship – it is about taking care of and sharing what we have – our time, our talents and our blessings….and an important aspect of this is evaluating our Planned Giving.

  • is the most effective way of ensuring a regular income for our church

  • enables the Parish Finance Committee to plan ahead and budget with confidence

Join our Planned Giving Scheme

Christian Stewardship is about taking care of and sharing what we have; our time, our talents and our financial blessings. An important aspect of this is evaluating our Planned Giving to the parish; everyone should consider giving something, mindful of one's blessing and circumstances.

Give by Standing Order...

Just like domestic household bills, which many of us pay by Standing Order, we can use the same method to give a planned, regular amount to the chruch...

  • helps you to plan your giving as part of your normal expenditure

  • keeps your giving up to date if you cannot be at church

  • avoids the desperate last minute search for cash to put into the offertory

  • helps church administration by reducing the need to open, count and record cash, and is more secure than taking cash to the bank!

Bankers Order Forms are available on request.

Give using Planned Giving Envelopes...

Gift Aid it!

Gift Aid enable our parish to reclaim income tax back from the government of £2.50 for every £10 given to the church. Please consider Gift Aiding your donation.
